Chris Martin of Coldplay
After initially telling the producers of the hit TV show “Glee,” they could not use their music, Coldplay has changed their mind and has offered up their entire catalog for an upcoming episode of the “American Idol with a plot” TV show. What are your feelings about this story? Personally, I am not too crazy about seeing a Coldplay-filled episode of “Glee,” but then again, I am also not crazy about the fact that a lot of Coldplay’s songs are love letters to Gwyneth Paltrow.

G's favorite albums of the decade - Part 1.
This is the first of two installments on my favorite albums of the first decade of the 2000s. These albums are not in any particular order of greatness because I love them all. With the invention of the Ipod, we’ve developed musical ADD. The albums on this post and the next one (check back tomorrow) will make you want to throw your electronic devices in a tub filled with water and listen to albums in their entirety. Check out my list after the jump.

Chris Martin of Coldplay. All photos by G.
I had nearly given up on Coldplay as they have eluded me multiple times as I try and see them live (the most notable was when my apartment caught on fire the night before I was to see them on the “Rush of Blood To The Head” tour and I decided to do the responsible thing and look for a new place to live thus selling my ticket), but it all changed when I met Chris Martin at a screening of the movie “Anvil” earlier this year. You can see that amazing picture here. I thought the rain was going to prevent me from seeing Coldplay tonight, but it let up and we were sure in for a treat!
My brain is on music overload as I’ve seen the likes of Green Day and Grace Jones this week, not to mention, today alone, I saw MGMT, Elbow and Echo and the Bunnymen, so if you have the complete set list, please post it! From what I can remember, they played hit after hit with “Clocks,” “In My Place,” “Talk,” “Fix You,” “Strawberry Swing,” “Viva La Vida,” and “God Put A Smile On Your Face” The Beastie Boys were supposed to play on the first night of the festival but had to cancel due to an ailing band member, so Chris Martin did an awesome piano version of the Beasties’ “Fight For Your Right To Party” as a tribute to absent friends. Coldplay seems to be a love ‘em or hate ‘em band, and I love ‘em!
