Pink Friday by Nicki Minaj. Out November 22, 2010
I can no longer see the color pink without thinking of The Worley Gig’s “Pink Thing of the Day,” so as a tribute, here’s my pink thing of the day: Nicki Minaj’s album “Pink Friday.” The album will be released on Monday, November 22, 2010. I haven’t heard it yet, but I am sure it will be filled with lots of oddly matched rhyming words.

Michael Jackson's Vision - Available November 22, 2010. GET IT!
You can say whatever you want about Michael Jackson, but one thing cannot be denied – the King of Pop sure knew how to make an entertaining music video. ”Michael Jackson’s Vision,” features 4 and a half hours of every video Michael Jackson made, including the previously unreleased video for the R. Kelly penned song “”One More Chance.” The picture quality has been restored and the audio has been remastered because Legacy Recordings wants you to have the best MJ viewing experience possible. Michael Jackson liked to think of these as “short films” instead of “music videos” and I find it nearly impossible to hear songs such as “Beat It,” “Billie Jean,” “Thriller,” “Black or White” and “Bad” without picturing images from the films in my head. There have been many incomplete collections of videos released over the years, but “Michael Jackson’s Vision” finally brings together the complete package. This 3 DVD box set is going to be a huge hit over Christmas and beyond and it’s totally worth it! In addition to all the great content on the discs, a booklet featuring rare production photos and shooting location details accompanies the set. For those wondering, the unedited version of “Black or White” makes its DVD debut and though it features an at the time scandalous crotch grabbing sequence, it also has one of the most soulful dance routines Jackson ever committed to video. Watching these videos makes it even more tragic that people waited until Jackson died to celebrate his life after he became a victim of tabloid scandals; however, Michael Jackson’s Vision will live on forever. ”Michael Jackson’s Vision” is released on November 22, 2010. According2g, this is a must have!

Future Relative
New York-based electropop band Future Relative is poised to be the next big thing. They recently played their first live gig and it was a triumphant sold out show at the Canal Room in NYC. The brains behind the band is Armand Aviram, who writes, sings and produces the tracks. The songs will make you throw yourself a silent rave as you listen to their delectable dance grooves. I recently chatted with Armand we professed our love for electro bands Dragonette and Young Empires. That conversation lead to some extremely exciting news. For a limited time, Armand is offering According2g readers a link to download a FREE 5-track EP from Future Relative called “Fantasies.” The tracks included are “X-Ray Vision,” “All Kinds of Love,” “Coming Alive,” “Eye Contact,” and “Monday Morning.” I think after you hear these tracks you’ll share my enthusiasm for Future Relative and like me, you’ll be looking for their name at the top of the charts. The link to download “Fantasies” by Future Relative is available for a limited time when you click here. Enjoy! Future Relative will be doing a brief club tour in the fall, so be on the lookout for that. As of this writing, one of the shows will be at Fontana’s on the Lower East Side on September 10, 2010. It will sell out quick, so don’t miss out! Thanks again to Armand Aviram for the grooves and we wish the best of success to Future Relative!

Throwing Stars by Jim Emmons. Now available on I-Tunes!
In 2008, I collaborated with singer Jim Emmons on a project called “In The Absence of Red.” Working in the style of Elton John and Bernie Taupin, I wrote song lyrics with no melodies in mind and emailed my contributions to Jim. He then took the words and crafted R & B, Pop and Jazz songs around the words and before long, the 11 song album “In The Absence of Red” was born. We released the project on I-Tunes and it was more successful than we could have ever imagined.
We’ve continued to collaborate ever since and our second collection, “Throwing Stars” is out today on I-Tunes! The album features the slow jam “So In Love,” the funky as hell “In Time,” the rockin’ “Something” as well as “Pride,” which will surely become the anthem for a community that is finally starting to see equal rights. You can hear samples of all of these songs at Jim Emmons’ official website, so get to clickin’. We hope you enjoy listening to the album as much as we enjoyed making it.
