Darwin Smith of Darwin Deez and G
The other night, prior to Darwin Deez’ show at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, I met lead singer Darwin Smith. He was a very nice guy. His show was pretty cool too. In addition to the folk/pop tracks the band played, in between songs, he and his band mates did boy-band style choreography! It was epic. By signing up on Darwin Deez’ mailing list, you can download two free tracks. I recommend it. Thanks again Darwin and I wish you continued success!

Darwin Smith of Darwin Deez
On February 19, 2011, New York indie-pop/folk band Darwin Deez played a sold out show at Bowery Ballroom in Manhattan. The show began at 9 pm with opening sets from Ava Luna and Friends. Darwin Deez hung out in the crowd watching both sets (and guested on for “My Boo” with Friends) before hitting the stage at 11 pm. Though the music is described on a lot of sites as “folk,” the songs are uplifting and fast pop tracks. Lead singer Darwin Smith played guitar, sang and did a bit of dancing in between songs.

The hour and a half set featured songs off their self-titled debut record including their singles “Constellations,” “Up In The Clouds” and “Radar Detector.” The show was very fun and upbeat and they kept the crowd dancing all night. I met lead singer Darwin Smith before the show and he was a very nice guy. A photo of that experience will be coming soon so stay tuned. You can download two free Darwin Deez tracks for free for a limited time by signing up on the band’s mailing list (link is above)! Thanks for rockin’!
