Hot (in every sense of the word) band alert.  Ohio’s “indietronica”/alt-hip hop/alt-rock duo Twenty One Pilots played their first of 2 sold out shows at New York’s Irving Plaza on December 4, 2013.  I’d only heard their name before I went to see the show and I was happily surprised that I enjoyed what I heard.  They started the show with masks over their faces (and had them on for 3 or 4 songs).  Do not do that!  You guys are way too hot for that.  I nearly walked out, but once they took their masks off, I was very glad I stayed.  Not only did I get to see these two hotties parade on stage for well over an hour, I got to see straight guys losing their shit over other straight guys, I got to see nearly the entire venue block the people behind them by holding up their cell phones to try and get pictures, which inevitably came out like crap (invest in a $100 camera people!) and last but not least, I saw the security guards at Irving Plaza beat the shit out of a drunken crowd goer who decided it was a good idea to try and do pull-ups from a low hanging pipe inside the venue.  Yes, photos and video exist!  And now, presented without comment – more photos of these two hotties!

On December 4, 2011, British singer Jamie Woon played a sold out show at Glasslands in Brooklyn, New York.  The singer’s music is R&B, dub-step and post-dub-step!  Taking the stage around 11 pm, the one hour set featured moody lighting, Jamie Woon’s smooth voice, some trippy beats and an audience that was absolutely mesmerized.  Woon played 10 songs from his debut album “Mirrorwriting” and often played different arrangements of the songs like an acoustic version of “Lady Luck.”  The crowd loved the show as evidenced by thunderous applause after each song.  Jamie Woon is playing on December 5, 2011 at Mercury Lounge, so check him out now while you still can see him in a relatively small venue!
