On October 10, 2013, actress Tilda Swinton and director Jim Jarmusch discussed their latest film, “Only Lovers Left Alive” at the New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall.  The film is about two vampires whose existence is threatened by the modern world.  Finally, a movie about vampires that didn’t suck!  Pun definitely intended. As it’s a Jim Jarmusch film, you’ll see his trademark minimalistic plot, huge focus on character development and tone.  The film is set in Detroit (yes!) and Tangier and Jarmusch discussed during the Q&A that he’s left his mark on vampire films by including that “when vampires are out and about, they wear gloves.”  Even if you’re not a fan of his films, the lead actress Tilda Swinton is extremely exotic and always entertaining.
