Zedd and Geoffrey Dicker
Anton Zaslavski, better known as Zedd is one of the hottest DJs/Producers in the world. His upcoming collaborations with Lady Gaga haven’t even been heard or released yet and they are already legendary! More impressively, he’s only 23 years old (as of press time). When I met him in New York last week, he asked me what I was up to for the weekend. When I reciprocated, he told me that he was doing a DJ gig in Miami later that night (and this conversation took place in the early evening!)!! Pretty cool to be jetsetting at such a young age, according2g! I wish Zedd the best and I look forward to him conquering the dance world! Cheers!

Sad news from the music world. Legendary DJ and producer/remixer Peter Rauhofer has died of brain cancer at the really young age of 48. Though Austrian, he was a New York club legend regularly spinning at venues like The Roxy. He was lucky enough to remix EVERYONE from Depeche Mode to Madonna to Kylie Minogue to Pet Shop Boys to Yoko Ono! He even won a Grammy for his remix of Cher’s “Believe.” I saw him spin many times and of course have burned countless calories listening to his remixes at the gym. He may be gone in body, but his music will live on forever. RIP Peter. 🙁

Tommie Sunshine and Geoffrey Dicker
Recently, superstar DJ Tommie Sunshine did a set before the Scissor Sisters played New York’s Bowery Ballroom. His set featured remixes of Lana Del Rey’s “Blue Jeans” and hot dance tracks by Katy Perry and Usher. When I met Tommie after the set, I complimented him on playing Aphex Twin’s “Window Licker” and we high fived! That was fuckin’ rad on both counts! Thanks Tommie!

Happy birthday to “the Mayor of the Sunset Strip,” Rodney Bingenheimer. If you are a music fan, you’ll surely know that Rodney Bingenheimer has lived the life we’ve all dreamed of. He’s interviewed just about everyone, partied with all the legends and has a knack for being in the right place at the right time – a skill I fully appreciate and embrace. For the duration of my entire life (he began 1 month before I was born), Rodney Bingenheimer has been a DJ on the LA radio station KROQ. He’s a permanent fixture at the 24 hour rock and roll deli Canter’s and above all, he’s a really cool guy. Happy birthday Rodney!
