George Michael - Live In London - Out Today!
George Michael fans have been waiting for this day for a long time. His first and only live release “Live In London” is released today. The set is taken from his final two shows in London last year. There was an exclusive one-night-only screening last week in New York and of course I attended. It was almost as good as seeing the show in person. The concert is shot beautifully and when you see this DVD, you will be taken to the edge of heaven. The DVD features hits such as “Fast Love,” “I’m Your Man,” “Everything She Wants,” “Freedom,” “Spinning The Wheel,” “Roxanne,” “Faith,” “Father Figure,” “One More Try,” “Feeling Good,” “An Easier Affair,” and “Careless Whisper.” I just hope George comes out of semi-retirement and continues to release more music. Let’s all put that thought out there, because I know he reads my blog

Ya gotta have faith!

Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. Photo by G.
Newly married Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails is giving another free gift to his legions of fans through his official website. When the band performed their final shows this summer, not only did the group endorse fans taking photos and video of them, but they are set to release all of the shows… for FREE! The first video of the band performing the entire “Downward Spiral” album at New York’s Webster Hall is now available on NIN.com. The footage was recorded by fans and has been professionally edited together. Reznor wanted to work with the venues for an official release, but due to high licensing fees, they were unable to come to an agreement. As a result, the band decided to just let the fans bootleg the hell out of these shows to say thank you for their support. I hope other artists take note of this, Prince.

George Michael live at Madison Square Garden. Photo by G.
When I met George Michael backstage after his concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden, he told me that he was planning on releasing a live document of his “25 Live” tour. He advised that it would be released by Christmas of 2008. A year later, he has officially announced that “Live In London” will be released on December 7, 2009!
There is no word what the final tracklist will be, but after the jump, you can see the set list for both of his final two London shows from August of 2008 and we can all salivate on the prospects…

Paul McCartney by G
Paul McCartney played the first ever concert at Citi Field, formerly known as the parking lot across from Shea Stadium tonight in Queens, New York. Shea Stadium, if you’ll recall, was where the Beatles played the largest gig ever in the United States in 1964.
We braved the pouring rain as Paul played hit after hit from the Beatles and Wings on this historic night. He hit the stage around 9 pm and played for a solid 2 and a half hours. Don’t worry if you missed this show, it was recorded for a future live DVD release.
Macca dedicated songs to John Lennon, George Harrison and Linda McCartney, though kept silent about Michael Jackson. Billy Joel guested on stage during “I Saw Her Standing There.” It was a night to remember.
If you want to see the set list, read on…
