Freedom! Homo Riot at the Statue of Liberty
Artist Homo Riot is working on one of his most ambitious projects ever – The Global Riot. Homo Riot asked fans to participate in a month long world takeover whereby interested parties were sent stickers and wheat pastes to put up in their cities. If you’ve been following Homo Riot on Twitter or checking his official site, you already know that photos have been sent in from all corners of the world. The goal is to bring, peace, love and tolerance and also cool photo ops! I did my part as you can see above and below. The above picture is at a fake statue of liberty and below, another fake symbol of freedom – The Empire State Building. Team Homo!

80 years ago on May 1, 1931, The Empire State Building in New York opened its doors to the public for the first time. As a transplant to New York, I have to admit, it never gets old looking at the historic building. When you are out and about on your adventures in the city, the building can be seen from so many different views reaching near and far – and all of them are breathtaking. I am not a fan of doing touristy things when I travel to different cities, but I highly recommend a trip to the top of this iconic building. The views are extremely gorgeous! Happy birthday ESB! Shout out to Gothamist for the tip!

Tie-Dyed Empire State Building
In the city of blinding lights, also known as New York, the Empire State Building decided to dedicate their colors tonight (October 19, 2009) in honor of an upcoming exhibit by the Grateful Dead. For one night only, the ever changing lighting scheme of this famous landmark has gone tie-died to honor the Dead. In reality, they just used a bunch of colors and I must say, it’s pretty cool looking. If you were walking around the city, you don’t worry that your hamburger was spiked with LSD. However, it probably contained other things in it that are less than safe for consumption.
