Cynthia Rowley and G
Recently I met American fashion designer Cynthia Rowley. She was on hand for a really cool performance/art installation that consisted of many rooms. In the first room, there were a bunch of Cynthia Rowley designed outfits. The next room was filled with supermodels wearing the outfits. You followed the models into the next room where they stood in a tiny space, put goggles on and had someone standing above them pour paint all over their heads!
After the models washed the paint from their hair, they were photographed in the outfits and they repeated the process. The clothes were then all one of a kind Cynthia Rowley’s! Genius!

The other day when I was on a walk in Manhattan, I discovered the above sticker. Loving the spiritual symbols (especially the Virgo symbol in the middle because Virgos RULE), I decided to investigate. The trail led me into the wonderful world of fashion designer Nick Alan. In addition to designing clothes and jewelery, he’s also a musician!

Nick Alan’s work has been seen on celebrities such as Moya Brennan of Clanad (Enya’s Sister) during the induction of the new Pope, NYC Musician Eric West on the red carpet, NYC Socialite Tinsley Mortimer, and throughout the last season of the Oxygen Network’s show “Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency” on Model Crystal Rose Truehart. The New York based designer has recently launched a new campaign on www.kickstarter.com to raise awareness and gain support for his forth 2011 collection. “Kickstarter” is a new way to fund creative ideas and ambitious endeavors. You can find out more by clicking here.
After looking at his work and listening to his music, I definitely think we’ll be hearing and seeing a lot more good stuff in the not so distant future! Who knows, maybe Nick Alan will see this article and grant an me an interview. Either way, be on the lookout for sights and sounds from Nick Alan, fashion designer to watch.
