Holy Ghost!

Holy Ghost!

Taking their name from a Bar-Kays song, I knew that Holy Ghost! was going to be great.  They played a sold out show at New York’s Mercury Lounge on February 2, 2011 and they proved it!  The Brooklyn-based group has already made hit remixes for the likes of Moby, MGMT, Cut Copy, Phoenix and Mark Ronson and the Business Int’l. Now they’re making their own music and holy s–t is it funky!  Every song is a non-stop dance party that will make you leave this planet and take a spin on the dance floor of electro heaven!  Their self-titled debut album will be released on April 5, 2011 and judging from the music I heard tonight, it’s going to be amazing!  If you are impatient like me, visit our good friends over at RCRD LBL to stream and snatch up a few free legal mp3s to tide you over until April.  Also, A Heart Is A Spade has a great Holy Ghost! remix of MGMT’s “Of Moons, Birds and Monsters.”  Of course these downloads are only valid while supplies last, so don’t waste any time!

See the set list as well as a photo from my encounter with Holy Ghost’s lead singer Alex Frankel after the jump.
