John Waters and G

February 4, 2011 was a day for the books!  I was fortunate enough to hang out with two of my favorite artists (appearing on national TV with one of them), meeting legendary film maker John Waters and capping the night off with a dance party thrown by Scissor Sisters at the Museum of Natural History in New York, which climaxed with Ana Matronic and Jake Shears recognizing me!  All I can say is “thanks universe, I am so grateful and please bring me more amazing experiences!”

Picture it:  It’s a very cold night in New York. The sidewalks are filled with black ice and it’s very slippery outside.  It’s enough to make most people stay in and wait for more favorable weather.  Not me!  I have things to do!  One of them was to meet one of my idols, John Waters.  He was a special guest speaker on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and due to another amazing previous engagement, I was running very late.  I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to make this event, but as my uncanny sense of amazing timing would have it, the very second I showed up to the venue, John Waters was arriving.  John Waters pulled my friend and I aside and told us he’d be happy to meet with us, but he was really not in the mood to be mobbed, so he took us around the corner, where it was pretty low key and chatted with us, signed my friend’s John Waters autobiography and took pictures with us.  He was so nice!  I got the chance to tell him how much his movies have inspired my life and he was extremely gracious.  As it was the eve of my friends’ birthday, can you imagine a better gift from the planet?  I cannot thank John Waters enough for his generosity, but I’ll try – thanks again Mr. Waters!  You’ve given me a wonderful memory I’ll cherish forever!

The Scissor Sisters know how to throw a dance party!  On February 4, 2011, Jake Shears and Ana Matronic, two of our beloved Scissor Sisters, were doing a very rare DJ set at the Museum of Natural History in New York.  It was a super fun night watching Jake and Ana shake their groove things on stage while the entire museum danced our asses off.  Every song they played was thumping and it was definitely a great way to see my friend BB3 usher in his birthday (and have a very happy birthday BB3)! One of the songs we were treated to was a mashup of the Scissor Sisters’ “Invisible Light” mashed up with Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.”  The video you are about to see is admittedly not the greatest, but where else are you going to hear this great remix?  The answer of course is According2g.com.  Check in daily for the very best of the music and art scene in New York!

On stage:  Jake Shears, Ana Matronic and DJ Sammy Jo.  Get ready to throw yourself a silent rave!

Can’t get the invisible light out of my head!
