It’s songs like this that make singer Findlay Brown the coolest crooner of the new generation. Here’s a video of Findlay Brown performing “Moon River” (OH MY GOD!) from the Mercury Lounge in New York on November 3, 2010. Yes, this is the same “Moon River” by Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer that Audrey Hepburn sang in “Breakfast at Tiffanys.” If you like his voice on this track, you’ll love all of his music. His 2nd album was produced by Bernard Butler of Suede, so you have to ask yourself, could it get any better? Doubtful!
On November 3, 2010, British singer Findlay Brown opened for Villagers at New York’s Mercury Lounge. For most of Findlay’s set, it was just him and a guitar singing love song after love song. He was really great. His music is a bit folk, a bit smooth rock and his songs are infused with a whole lotta love. His second album “Love Will Find You” was produced by Suede’s Bernard Butler, so you know it’s good! He even covered “Moon River” (by Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini as made famous by Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”). A video of that will be coming soon, so please be patient. I think if you need some music to make babies to, Findlay Brown might be the soundtrack you’ve been looking for.
See Findlay Brown’s set list as well as a picture of my encounter with him after the jump. And thanks again Findlay for an awesome show and for being so cool!
