The period of 2000-2009 saw the re-release of some of the greatest music of all time, packaged with superior sound, deluxe liner notes and bonus tracks. After the jump, see my thoughts on the greatest reissues of the decade.

Lindsey Buckingham. Photo by G.
On this day in 1949, the world was blessed with the birth of the rock and roll guitar god, Lindsey Buckingham!
Lindsey Buckingham’s music has made my life so much richer, as a part of Buckingham Nicks, Fleetwood Mac and with his solo career. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Lindsey Buckingham live both solo and as a part of Fleetwood Mac and those experiences make you realize that he is a creative genius that can sing and play guitar with the best of them.
For those that have any doubts, you MUST see his performance of the Fleetwood Mac classic “I’m So Afraid.” The man tells a story with a 6-minute guitar solo (and please note that he does not use a guitar pick. He plays with his bare fingernails!) that will leave you breathless.
Happy Birthday Lindsey!

The landslide hasn't brought them down
Hey New Yorkers! The Mac is back for the second leg of their Hits Unleashed Tour. They’ll be at Madison Square Garden tonight. The photos you see here were taken by me on March 19, 2009 when they came around the first time. Christine McVie is no longer with the band, unfortunately, but you’re sure to get your Stevie Nicks fix with a little help from the underrated guitar god Lindsey Buckingham. Let’s not forget John McVie on the bass and of course, Mick Fleetwood on drums. While it’s a little disappointing that they didn’t play anything off their legendary Buckingham Nicks album, the show was excellent. See the set list and a few more pix after the break.
