Francis Bacon – Exhibit

At the Metropolitan Museum of Art, another one of their fantastic current exhibits is a retrospective of painter Francis Bacon. Don’t confuse the surrealistic painter Francis Bacon with the philosopher of the same name or The Worley Gig’s “Bacon Thing of The Day,”  but make no mistake, all 3 are worth further investigation.  Bacon would have been 100 this year had he not passed away in 1992 and this exhibit showed off a fantastic body of work.  For those that might not be able to make it in person to see the exhibit, there is a film about his life that was released in 1998, called “Love Is The Devil,” and it stars a pre-James Bond Daniel Craig as Bacon’s lover.  Sounds pretty steamy.
