When I first discovered the sounds of British electro/pop singer Frankmusik, the song that really drew me in was “3 Little Words.” On the deluxe version of his debut album “Complete Me,” there’s a bonus disc entitled “Recomplete Me,” which features reworked versions of the album’s songs. Awesomely, whilst Frankmusik was in town performing tracks off his excellent new album “Between,” he performed both the “electronic” as well as “piano” version of “3 Little Words.” Super cool, according2g. Click play and enjoy “3 Little Words,” in two different arrangements!
Frankmusik is back! The soulful/pop British singer is currently embarking on his first US headlining tour and one of his first stops was a sold out show at New York’s Pianos on June 8, 2013. This is the third time I’ve seen Frankmusik and also the third different city I’ve seen him in. Previously, I’d seen him in London as well as Los Angeles so it was great to see him in New York. He released his 3rd album “Between” online and it’s already number 4 in the US Dance Charts on iTunes. Congrats!
The new songs, including “Fast as I Can” and “Map” are upbeat and definitely recommended for dancing like many of the tracks on his debut “Complete Me,” which was released in 2009. Speaking of that album, we were also treated to a dance version of “3 Little Words” as well as a piano version of the song (and videos of both will be coming soon, so stay tuned!), plus an a cappella version of “Confusion Girl,” and “Better off as Two,” which is the song that put his name on the music map.
He mentioned that he is moving to Brooklyn, and I am not sure if he was just joking or not, but it would be cool and since Rod Thomas aka Bright Light Bright Light has done this move already and they have similar styles, so if this is true, hopefully a collaboration will be forthcoming. I guess we’ll all have to stay tuned. Sign up on Frankmusik’s email list and you can download a free 4 track EP called “Far From Over” on his official website for a limited time. Highly recommended listening and like the title of the EP suggests, Frankmusik’s career is on the rise once again and for that, I am super excited! Thanks for a great evening and I look forward to more shows and more grooves!
Today is an exciting day for fans of British pop singer/producer Frankmusik. After releasing the near perfect debut album “Complete Me” in 2009, Vincent Frank put his singing career on hold to produce remixes and songs for the likes of Lady Gaga, Pet Shop Boys and Far East Movement. Well, he’s back and better than ever with a new single called “Fear Inside.” For a limited time, you can listen to the track by clicking here, and I recommend it. The song is going to burn up the charts! Welcome back Frankmusik! We missed you!
When I was in La-La Land last week, I met the very awesome Vincent Frank, known better as Frankmusik. He hasn’t broken big yet in the United States, so he was quite surprised that I recognized him. You might know his remixes though, as he’s remixed everyone from Lady Gaga to the Pet Shop Boys. I saw him open for the Pet Shop Boys at the O2 Arena in London in June last year, and I got the opportunity to tell him how much I enjoyed the show and his album. He was super nice and he also told me a bit of big news… he’s in Los Angeles at the moment recording a new album! His Twitter account left a cryptic message recently saying that he’s “out of here and doesn’t know if or when he’ll be back.” He was voted as Pop Justice’s Prettiest Male of 2009. If you don’t know his music, he could possibly be described as having a Justin Timberlake sound and his album “Complete Me” has so many radio friendly singles, it sounds like a greatest hits album. Check out the video to “3 Little Words” below (possibly my favorite track off the album).
You might know music, but do you know Frankmusik? He opened for the Pet Shop Boys at London’s O2 Arena on June 19, 2009. He’s got soul and he sure is a little cutey pie. His debut album “Complete Me” hits stores on July 27. If you click here, you can download an mp3 sampler of the remix album, “Recompleted,” which will be available as a special edition 2-cd set available on the same day.
