Self-proclaimed news junkie and fellow California boy (I’m only the latter) Fred Tomaselli has a really cool new exhibit entitled “Current Events” at James Cohan Gallery in New York.  In this exhibit, you’ll find Fred Tomaselli re-imagining New York Times cover stories in the most colorful way possible, but there are also many large scale works that have so much detail that they will need to be seen in person to grasp their epic proportions.

There is so much detail and so many layers to Tomaselli’s works, I highly recommend you see these great works of art in person!

Depth Perception at the Stephan Stoyanov Gallery In New York. Now through June 27, 2010.

Do not adjust your eyes!  The Stephan Stoyanov Gallery in New York has not one but two really cool exhibits that are currently showing.  The first called “Depth Perception,” showcases the works of Nicole Cohen, Claire Ellen Corey, Thomas Eller, Cliff Evans, Roland Flexner, Jeff Gibson, Geoff Kleem, Susanna Starr and Fred Tomaselli. The artists toy with perceptions in these really amazing works of art and the results are a feast for the eyes. You’ll see manipulated photos, collages, videos, paintings in this exhibit and it’s really worth checking out.
