My speakers are on fire!  Young Empires, one of my favorite new bands, have remixed another one of my favorites, Two Door Cinema Club!  I have no idea how this track leaked, but the rumour is that a kid in China sent it to a friend saying “don’t send this to anyone,” and you know how that goes…

What matters is this:  the Young Empires remix of “What You Know” by Two Door Cinema Club is fantastic and even better, it’s free!

For a limited time, download it here.

After you love this remix as much as I do, while supplies last, you can download a free EP from Young Empires on their official site.  I highly recommend checking out their music if you are not already familiar with it.  Every song is a non-stop dance party!  The band is getting so much great buzz on the net and they’ve been on a very successful tour with Chromeo and Holy Ghost!  They return to New York on April 7, 2010 playing The Studio at Webster Hall and I cannot wait for the show.

The band has also recorded a session for Daytrotter and as soon as it’s up, you’ll be hearing about it here.  Happy downloading!

I love The Morning Benders!  The indie pop band is in town to play a sold out gig at Webster Hall in New York.  This will be the band’s first appearance at Webster Hall and it’s going to be a great night.  I met lead singer Chris Chu prior to the show and he was really cool as you can see from the above photo.  In other Morning Benders news, if you go to their official site, you can download The Golden Filter remix of their track “Excuses,” for FREE!  Thanks again Chris for the great music and for being really nice!

Yumipuff and G!

Japan loves G and I love Japan!  I recently had the good fortune of meeting Japanese pop music star Yumipuff.  She is so cute!  Her music is dancey and fits in nicely with the stuff you hear on the radio today.  Yumipuff gave me a link for a free mp3 download, but she says this offer won’t last forever, so head on over here to get your free mp3.  Thanks again Yumipuff!  Hope you make it big in the US!

Shy Child

Prior to Dragonette hitting the stage at New York’s Bowery Ballroom on August 13, 2010, the electro-pop band Shy Child played a 35 minute set.  I liked their set a lot.  The band consists of just two members and they produced some sounds that got the crowd dancing and warmed up for Dragonette.  Their latest album “Liquid Love” is out now and if you go to their official website (link is above), you can download a free mp3 of their song “Criss Cross.”

When MGMT jumped the shark on their second release and put out an album of unfriendly for the radio art songs, cries of sorrow rang out across the world of hipsters.  For those that loved the sound of the first MGMT record, you are going to love The Rassle!  The New York-based band is comprised of ex-members of The Virgins and Young Lords and I have a feeling this band is going to become a household name in the not so distant future.  The band is rightfully confident in that thought as they want you to hear their music – FOR FREE!  If you visit The Rassle’s official site, you can download a 4-track EP for free that features the songs “Wild Ones,” “Celebrate the Days,” “Full Speed Ahead (FSA)” and “Born Free.”  I cannot stop listening to these infectious, but guilt free indie pop/rock tunes.  I know that you’ll agree so head on down to The Rassle’s official site here and get to groovin’!  Special thanks to IG for turning us all on to The Rassle!
