Faith by George Michael. Deluxe 2 CD/1 DVD Remastered Edition. Out now from Legacy Recordings.
“Faith” by George Michael was the first CD I ever purchased when it was first released in 1987. The debut solo album from Wham UK’s front man, George Michael is a perfect record. The rest of the world thought so too as evidenced by the fact that “Faith” has sold over 20,000,000 copies to date. Legacy Recordings have released the long awaited 2CD / 1 DVD remastered edition of “Faith” and it’s the reissue you gotta have! The sound quality is a vast improvement over that on the initial release and tracks such as “Hand To Mouth,” “I Want Your Sex,” “Kissing A Fool,” and “Hard Day” have never sounded so good.
The bonus CD includes “Faith” era B-sides such as the instrumental versions of “Kissing a Fool” and “Faith” in addition to the 12″ version of “Monkey” and live B-sides “Love’s In Need of Love Today” and “I Believe When I Fall In Love,” which are both Stevie Wonder covers. Oddly, the “Listen Without Prejudice” B-side “Fantasy” is on the set, but it’s such a great song and is long out of print, so perhaps this is a way to reintroduce that brilliant song to the masses who are from the I-Pod generation.
Also, a 100 minute DVD featuring all of the “Faith” videos and two TV specials about “Faith” (from 1987 and 1988) are also included. Housed in a deluxe hard-back book, this special edition has rare photos and essay examining the success of “Faith” as well as a 2010 interview with George Michael where he talks candidly about every track on the album. If you are a fan of George Michael, don’t even think about not getting this! And if the people of Sony are reading, please, please, please give “Listen Without Prejudice, Volume 1″ the same treatment!
The Tracklist for "Faith" by George Michael. Out NOW!
As I was digging through the G Archives to compile my first ever coffee table book of photos (details coming soon), I uncovered a nice little surprise for you. On July 21, 2008 one of the biggest thrills of my life happened: I spent 2 glorious hours sitting 5 feet away from George Michael as he sang 25 of my favorite songs live at Madison Square Garden. The clip you are about to see is my favorite part of his classic song “Kissing A Fool.” Enjoy!
Singer George Michael recently brought his amazing 25 Live tour to Australia. He also brought his Iphone and has been using the gay hookup application Grindr to prowl for sex. Allegedly, his Grindr name is “Back For Wood.” I read this on the internet, so it must be true. Myself and zillions of fans worldwide really wish George would channel his insatiable thirst for sex by recording new music. As a reminder to one of my favorite singers, the Creator has given you a great voice, two fully functioning hands and Chatroulette. Please use them, and practice safe sex!
George Michael and Boy George performing together in the 80s.
The world can rest a little easier tonight as George Michael and Boy George have ended their 25 year old feud. I’ve held this photo in the G archives in hopes the two would one day kiss and make up and the day has finally come! The Daily Star has reported that the war of words between the two Georges started when Boy George publicly outed George Michael and he refused to acknowledge it until the 90s when he got caught with his pants down, literally, in a public restroom in Beverly Hills, California. Now that this feud has ended, there is certainly hope for peace in the Middle East, according2g.
This clip, while obviously in bootleg quality, is from 1991 and it’s George Michael singing Terence Trent D’arby’s classic song “Sign Your Name.” I think George does such a great job. Please release this as a single George! With a glory hole on top!
