Green Day’s “Uno” Poster

I like the street art look to Green Day’s new trio of album covers, cleverly titled Uno, Dos, Tre.
That is all.

Happy birthday to Green Day’s bassist and co-founder Mike Dirnt! I met him a few weeks ago backstage at the Big Audio Dynamite concert and within a 15 minute period, I met BAD’s Mick Jones, Clem Burke from Blondie, Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz from Tom Tom Club and Talking Heads. It was a night that will live on forever in my mind because it was so awesome! Mike Dirnt was super cool as we talked and I thanked him for all the great music. The picture only captures one moment, but Mike was winking during the taking of the photo – yes! Thanks Mike, have a great day!
Also born today, actress Audrey Hepburn and singer Lance Bass. Back when I used to dye my hair blonde, I was mistaken for Lance Bass a LOT! I don’t see the resemblance personally. I’ve surprisingly never met him, but I’d like to meet him one day so I can take a photo with him to prove that we are in fact, two different people.

Picture it: The first day of March, 2011. I was on my way to have a delicious New York bagel with some friends when the person standing in line ahead of me was Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day! I debated talking to him as he was with his family and then I remembered that on a previous encounter with the rock god, I took a picture with him and he was so mobbed, the picture came out pretty bad. Billie Joe, once again, was extremely nice and he happily obliged to take a photo with me. As he was with his family, I did not gush to him about how awesome I think Green Day are and how I think it’s really a great thing that someone who is as big of a star as he is is very cool to fans – so I am saying it now. Thanks again Billie Joe! (and for those wondering, the bagel was nowhere near as great as taking a photo with Billie Joe).

American Idiot by Green Day
Happy birthday to Green Day’s lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong. I met the singer the day before my birthday last year and he was really nice. He was mobbed by screaming girls, but he still took the time to sign autographs and chat with fans. He’s no American Idiot! Happy birthday Billie Joe!
Photo taken with my hand.
Admittedly not the greatest picture, but when I encountered Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day after he gave a talk about “American Idiot” on Broadway, he was mobbed! It was really cool of him to sign autographs for the multitudes of screaming girls that were dying to meet him. In addition to taking this photo with me, he also autographed 4 of my precious Green Day CDs (“Dookie,” “Bullet In A Bible,” “American Idiot” and “21st Century Breakdown”). Thanks again Billie Joe! Some of you C-listers should take a lesson from people such as Billie Joe. The guy can sell out stadiums across the world and he still takes the time to be nice to fans! Now that’s a class act! Here’s a brief video I took of Billie Joe and Michael Mayer (director of “American Idiot”) talking about the project. I risked life and limb to bring you a brief clip, so I hope you enjoy it! The first question was “do you have any regrets?”
