On October 23, 2009 at the Fillmore East in New York, local heroes Hercules and Love Affair played a sold out show. As you all know, I go to a lot of shows. This show was a huge dance party. It was so much fun. The group’s music can be described as dance-punk. Noticably absent was Antony Hegarty, the lead vocalist for Antony and the Johnsons who sometimes sings with Hercules and Love Affair. They performed their worldwide smash “Blind,” without Antony and he was missed. Hours after the show, my head is still buzzing with their funky dance grooves.
