Dick Clark
The world’s favorite New Year’s Eve personality, Dick Clark turns 82 today and we wish him a very happy birthday. I’ve met Dick Clark many times and he’s always extremely nice. Until some recent health problems, the man never looked like he aged at all. If it was plastic surgery, he should have let all of his celebrity friends know the name of his doctor, because people way younger than him look much worse! I loved when he hosted American Bandstand and I learned about so much great music because of that show! Thanks Dick and many happy returns!

Jimi Hendrix
One of the gods of Rock and Roll, Jimi Hendrix was born on November 27, 1942. Had he lived past his 27th birthday, he’d be celebrating number 69 today! It’s hard to believe he’s not with us anymore because aside from not being able to tour anymore, for obvious reasons, there’s been a steady output of unreleased music released since his death. For Jimi fans, you’ll really want to grab a copy of the 4 CD/1 DVD box set “West Coast Seattle Boy,” as it contains 3 discs of outtakes and demos – and it’s GREAT! Wherever you are Jimi, happy birthday!
What’s your favorite Jimi Hendrix song? For me, there’s too many to name, but I think I’ll celebrate the day listening to “Foxey Lady,” “Hey Joe,” and the entire “Axis: Bold As Love” album.

Lyle Lovett
Happy 54rd birthday to country singer, former Mr. Julia Roberts and sometimes actor Lyle Lovett. I used to really love his guest appearances in Robert Altman’s films (especially “The Player.”) They don’t make movies like that anymore! Happy birthday Lyle!

Harry Hamlin
According2g.com wishes actor Harry Hamlin a very happy 60th birthday. The man is as gorgeous now as he was back in the day. He starred as Perseus in “Clash of the Titans,” one of my favorite movies growing up and I’ve watched that movie more times than I care to admit in a public forum. I remember when I met Harry Hamlin in person, I told him how much I loved “Clash of the Titans,” and by that time, he had moved on to working on the show “LA Law,” but regardless, he was very kind and thankful. And I am grateful I met one of my real life mythical heroes! I’m still jealous that he got to kill Medusa. Even if it was just a movie. Happy birthday Harry!
