The Setlist for The Colbert Report with Radiohead

I am not a TV watcher so I’ve never seen the Colbert Report, but I had my first experience seeing it in person with special musical guests, and one of my favorite bands, Radiohead! Wow!  Lucky me.  Like most TV show tapings, there’s a lot of sitting around and waiting, but Stephen Colbert is a pro.  He is such a natural born talk show host.  He’s funny, has a sharp tongue and a quick wit.  The audience was treated to a special hour long episode where we got to see two interview segments and 6 songs in total!  The interview segments were very funny and Colbert caught the band off guard with some of the wacky things he asked.  The songs played were “The Daily Mail,” which has not been released yet, “The National Anthem,” and 4 tracks off their latest album “The King of Limbs” – “Good Morning Mr. Magpie,” “Little By Little,” “Codex” and “Bloom.”  To ensure the sound was right, the band played a couple minutes of each song during the commercial break before playing the songs in their entirety, so it was extremely cool watching the band rehearse in front of an audience.  Thom Yorke was in a great mood and he sounded flawless.  I’m sure for the non-TV watchers, you’ll find videos on the internet soon enough and I recommend you check them out if you like Radiohead.  You won’t be disappointed.  When the taping was over, I saw Thom Yorke leaving the building and I was able to get one of my favorite albums of all time signed – “In Rainbows.”  It will take me a long time to get over such an overall great experience.  Obviously you were not allowed to take pictures so I used restraint. However, I took a picture I posted the set list because I know die hard Radiohead fans might want to see it.  I blocked out any info for the upcoming episodes so I don’t spoil it for people that enjoy the element of surprise when they watch TV.  Thanks to @zaffi for the hookup!  Appreciate it brother!

Thom Yorke of Radiohead

I just got wind of this, and I think it’s brilliant!  Radiohead fans filmed a 2009 show the band performed in Prague and edited their footage together.  The band was so impressed by the project, they provided soundboard audio of the show to serve as the soundtrack! Radiohead pioneers the dying music industry once again.  You can download the free unofficial yet somewhat official DVD bootleg here for free!  I saw this show about 1 month before this performance and it was one of the greatest shows I’ve ever seen.  Coming from me, that is saying a lot!  I find it interesting to note that the setlist is almost entirely different as well.  Thanks Thom and company!

G's top albums of the decade - Part 2.

Here’s the long awaited second installment of my favorite albums of the decade. It’s hard to see from the above picture, but I was fortunate enough to get 7 out of these 9 albums autographed (the two exceptions are Radiohead and MGMT), and I saw all of these bands/singers live on the tours promoting these albums.  Thanks universe!  Again, these are not in order because I love them all.
