Last night, August 7, 2013, British sensation Jake Bugg performed a secret show at the legendary Iridium Jazz Club in New York to tape an upcoming special for PBS.  It was my second time seeing Jake Bugg in concert and similar to my consensus on the first go round, he’s incredible!  At press time, Jake Bugg is only 19 years old, but his voice, his guitar playing and his lyrics far exceed his young age.  He sounds a bit like Dylan and plays guitar like Johnny Cash and if he doesn’t become an international superstar, something is not right with the world!

In addition to performing the majority of his self titled debut album, he also performed quite a few new songs as well as a cover of Neil Young’s “Hey Hey My My.”  To think that the song is older than Jake Bugg, yet he totally does justice to the song is truly incredible.  I recommend you check out songs like “Lighning Bolt,” “Two Fingers,” and “Taste It,” and once you do, you’ll be astounded by Jake Bugg’s talent.  I spotted singers Macy Gray and Paloma Faith in the front row at the show.  Too cool.  Special thanks to MyFreeConcertNY for the hookup on these extremely hard to get tickets.

New York!  Tonight, May 26, 2011, is the perfect night to fuse the worlds of art and music.  Artist and composer Mark Kostabi and his band are performing at the legendary Iridium Jazz Club in New York.  The Mark Kostabi Group recently released “The Spectre of Modernism,” and the band will be playing tracks from the album tonight.  More information and a link to purchase tickets are on the official site of Iridium Jazz Club. I will be traveling across the country so I will unfortunately miss the show, but if you talk to Mark afterwards (and he’s extremely approachable – so please do), tell him G sent you.

Below is a minute long taster of what you can expect to hear tonight.  I filmed this at Kostabi World, where the lights were dimmed for maximum ambiance.
