Far East Movement have a number 1 song on I-tunes. Â The track is called “Like A G6″ and since we at According2g love all G things, here’s a video of “Like A G6″ live at Irving Plaza on October 12, 2010. Â Take it way FEM….
Ladies (especially if you are under 18 like most of the crowd at this show), prepare to wet yourself when you see nextbigthing Mike Posner perform his track “Drug Dealer Girl” live at New York’s Irving Plaza on October 12, 2010.  If you are an oldster like me and feel out of touch with what all the kids are listening to, check out the first verse where the crowd shouts out the lyrics to every word.  My voice can’t be heard because I was lip-synching.  Yeah. I am going to get a towel.
On October 12, 2010, Boston’s funk/punk band Bad Rabbits opened for singer Mike Posner.  I liked their music instantly.  As I was listening to their music for the first time, I felt influences of Prince as the music was funky, there were some killer guitar solos and the songs were eclectic.  All good things, according2g.  There was also a new-jack-swing influence that could be heard and they even covered a bit of Bell Biv Divoe’s “Poison.” You could sort of say that Bad Rabbits is like Prince meets Bad Brains!  WOW!  Don’t just take my word for it, go to Bad Rabbits’ official website where you can download their EP “Stickup Kids” for free!  Do it now while supplies last, your ears will thank you for it.  I met lead singer Dua Boakye after their awesome set and he was very cool.  I wished him luck in person, and now I am wishing it again in print!  Thanks Dua and good luck to Bad Rabbits!
October 12, 201o was a special day for Far East Movement. Â They opened for a packed venue full of screaming teens who came to see Mike Posner and in addition their album “Free Wired” is out today. Â They threw copies into the crowd in between playing their number 1 smash on I-tunes “Like A G6.” Â A video of that song will be coming soon, so please be patient. Â They also wore space helmets, jumped into the crowd and performed a loose cover of “Hollaback Girl” by Gwen Stefani. Â Enough said!
On October 12, 2010, California’s Pop/White Soul Band 2AM Club opened for Mike Posner at New York’s Irving Plaza. This was my first exposure to their music and I liked what I heard. The show was very high energy and as the guys in the group are all good looking, it was very amusing watching the ladies at the show lose control as 2AM Club shook their asses about on stage. Musically, they sounded a bit like Maroon 5, but don’t just take my word for it, go to their official site (link is above) and download a free mp3 of “Worry About You.” A fun fact about 2AM Club, they’ve worked with Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads and recorded some demos with him. I met lead singers Marc Griffin and Tyler Cordy after the set and you can see those pictures after the jump.
