New York!  If you get the chance before May 18, 2013, you should definitely head over to Flagg Art Foundation in Chelsea because they are currently showing two great exhibitions.  The first (on the 10th floor) is by Hilary Harkness and one floor below is “Issue” by Tom Molloy.  Both exhibits require extra viewing time as there is so much detail in both.  For me, the highlight of “Issue” is a panel featuring tiny replicas of various people protesting.

As you look through the multitudes of miniature protestors, you will find yourself forming your own view on many of the things that these people take issue with.  Some of the issues include anti-Marijuana, “Lady Gaga Leads Hell,” “Stop the killing in Kashmir,” “Who’s Afraid of Twitter,” “Stop the Religious Bullshit,” “My pension is my pay” and so on.

Adam Lambert on The Advocate is in Demand

Adam Lambert on The Advocate is in Demand

There are posters all over Chelsea offering to buy pristine copies of the new issue of The Advocate with Adam Lambert on the cover.  This person is willing to pay up to $20 in fact for each issue.  No disrespect meant to anyone, but if I am paying $20 for a magazine, I’d better open the centerfold and see a baggie of cocaine fall out.  And not that shit that college students are cooking up in the bathtub either.  You know exactly what I am talking about on all these levels too, so don’t give me that look.  I’m just keepin’ it real folks.

Garage Magazine

Damien Hirst persuaded 23-year-old London-based illustrator Shauna Taylor to have her vagina tattooed with an iconic Hirst butterfly!  It’s on the cover of the new UK based art magazine Garage.  The cover is causing a lot of controversy and the issue (Issue No. 1, to be exact) is sure to be worth a lot of money, so take this tip from G and check out Garage Magazine.  The magazine features art and fashion and of course a Velvet Underground/Andy Warhol “Peel Slowly and See” Damien Hirst vagina tattoo!
