New Works by Jason D’Aquino at Last Rites Gallery

Solo Exhibition of New Works by Jason D'Aquino at Last Rites Gallery in NYC. Now showing through July 25, 2010.

The Last Rites Gallery in New York has a great solo show of artist Jason D’Aquino’s latest works on display and I highly recommend that you check it out.  As I’ve mentioned before, Last Rites Gallery is an amazing space that houses some of the world’s best tattoo artists, features a permanent collection of art that includes many one of a kind items by H.R. Geiger and also has great exhibits.  Jason D’Aquino’s work is awesome!  The pictures above and below do not do his works justice (I was competing with a glare from the overhead lighting, plus these photos cannot possibly capture the detail of his work), so you must see them with your own eyes.  He draws incredibly detailed art work on old ledger pages and matchboxes and you’ll be scratching your head saying “how on earth did he do that” many times as your mind is blown by his work.  You can check out his official website to see many more images of his art.  I met Jason at the opening for his solo show and he was extremely nice.  See a picture of my encounter with the artist as well as a few more images of his amazing art work after the jump.  Thanks again Jason for being a really cool guy and for making incredible art!

Last Rites Gallery is located at 511 West 33rd Street, 3rd floor and Jason D’Aquino’s solo exhibition of new works runs through July 25, 2010.  Don’t miss it!
