On March 19, 2010, New York City got a breath of fresh air, as the French electronic duo Air played a sold out show at Terminal 5.  The band consists of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel, their music consists of upbeat to mellow electronica and their live show consists of a crowd going absolutely bonkers watching the band and their amazing screen projections behind them.  For those that do not know the band, they did the score for the movie “The Virgin Suicides” that came out a few years ago.  For those that do know them, they know that the band has 9 studio albums and rarely tours, so the show tonight was one for the memory books.  A fun fact about the band, the name Air is a “backronym” (a phrase constructed after the fact to make an existing word or words into an acronym) for Amour, Imagination, Rave, which translates to Love, Imagination, Dream.  The band played their biggest hits “Sexy Boy,” “Cherry Blossom Girl,” “Kelly Watch The Stars,” and “Alpha Beta Gaga,” a track that has nothing to do with the Lady of the same name.
