New York! You’ve seen the work of street artists Phil, BEAU, Womp, Sabio, Katsu, Pixote and Jim Joe on your daily travels throughout the city. You can now see their chops in a gallery setting. Damon Dash has opened Poppington, a new Lower East Side gallery space on 60 Orchard Street in Manhattan. The inaugural exhibit is called “Quality of Life” and is curated by BEAU, David Barnett and David Chang.

If you’ve been to New York in the last few years, you’ve surely seen the art/tags/graffiti of Jim Joe. His stuff is everywhere! Literally! On walls, on cars, on billboards, on trucks, on mattresses…. You name it, Jim Joe has tagged it. The site Cult of Joe has launched and it’s a tribute to one of the kings of New York graffiti – Jim Joe. Check it out. If you are like me and tear up this city, you’ll find the photos are like a trip down memory lane.
