The headline above is correct!  On March 11, 2014 at Carnegie Hall in New York, as part of a benefit concert for the Tibet House, a once in a lifetime pairing happened on stage:  Bernard Sumner of New Order and Joy Division with Iggy Pop!  The pair sang Joy Division’s “Transmission” and “Love Will Tear Us Apart” as well as the New Order rarity “Californian Grass.”

Videos of the later two songs have not only been posted on According2g.com, but they’ve gone viral (with “Love Will Tear Us Apart” achieving over 35,000 views in the first 24 hours) and have ended up on nearly every major music publication from NME to Rolling Stone to Spin Magazine, and although those sites merely posted the videos with no credit given to me for taking/posting the video, it’s still a huge honor.

As a result, I’m giving you, my dear readers yet another world exclusive – Iggy Pop and Bernard Sumner of New Order and Joy Division performing “Transmission.”  Websites, if you want to post the video, please give credit where credit is due – not just for me, but across the board and at all times!  Removing the video and keeping it private for me and my readers is as easy as the click of a button.

Videos of Iggy Pop (performing “Nightclubbing” and Patti Smith performing “Perfect Day” by Lou Reed) will be coming soon, so stay tuned!!!!!

In honor of my birthday, I am giving you a present!  A week ago today, on September 13, 2013, Joy Division and New Order bassist Peter Hook and his band The Light performed the “Brotherhood” era non-album track “Everything’s Gone Green” at Webster Hall in New York.  It looked and sounded just like this.  Press play and enjoy! x
