Brief Review: Kurt Vile at Maxwell’s
Photos by G.
Kurt Vile is getting huge! A few short years ago, he was the support act to many bands and now Kurt Vile is a headliner. Prior to a summer European tour, Kurt Vile played a very intimate show at Maxwell’s in New Jersey on June 15, 2012. He’s being compared to a young Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty and with media buzz like that, the future is looking bright for Kurt.
He played an hour long set that included “Peeping Tomboy,” “Jesus Fever” and “Blackberry Song,” which was a nice mix of tracks from the several studio albums he’s released, including the latest “Smoke Ring for my Halo.” The crowd was loving every second of Kurt’s set, which featured his backing band The Violators.
You can see the set list after the jump.
