Guillermo Del Toro and G
A tale of 2 G’s! I love director Guillermo Del Toro. His movies such as “Pan’s Labyrinth” and “Hellboy” are so great! He was in New York at a pre-screening of the latest film he produced – “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.” Being totally honest, I didn’t care much for the film. It will make you jump out of your seat a few times, and it is certainly well produced. The creatures in the film also are very cool looking, but the story is very predictable and isn’t very strong to begin with, according2g. What matters most to me; however is that when I spoke with Guillermo Del Toro, he was very nice! Thanks Guillermo! After the film was over, the stars of “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” Katie Holmes and Bailee Madison took a few questions from the audience. Guillermo is hilarious! He likes to use the F word a lot and as you’ve gathered from this site, we are big fans of the usage of that word. And when children are around – BONUS! Why sugar coat life?! Good times!

Katie Holmes and Geoffrey Dicker
As much as I steer clear of trying to read tabloids, it’s hard to escape seeing pictures of Katie Holmes on a weekly basis splashed across the front page. She’s married to Tom Cruise and they have a baby together. Apparently, that is interesting to people these days (read: if you had a life of your own, you wouldn’t have time to poke your nose into someone else’s business). I went to an advance screening of the new Guillermo Del Toro produced film “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” in which Katie Holmes stars. It was my first time seeing her in person. She’s extremely beautiful up close (and as you know I am not even into that sort of thing, so I really mean it!) Just knowing how mobbed she can be and the fact that most of the things that are said about her are negative, I thought when I met her she’d be over it. It was in fact, the exact opposite! She was extremely nice and polite! She was happy to pose for a photo with me and when I saw her a little while later, we caught eyes and she smiled and nodded!
So now I am sitting here puzzled as to why the paparazzi is so frickin’ rude to her?! If she was a jerk, I could almost understand it, but she’s just a sweet lady who is living her life. In the wake of Amy Winehouse’s death and how many horrible things are STILL being said about her, it just makes me realize these nasty things are being spoken by people who never bothered to find out for themselves if the stories were indeed true. People! Wake up and stop reading this garbage! Even if all the rumours turn out to be true – SO WHAT! Is your life going to be any different? Doubtful. After thousands of in-person celebrity encounters, it takes a lot to impress me and I have to say, I’m very impressed. Thanks Katie!

Tonight at New York’s Chelsea Market Place, WENN (the World Entertainment News Network) celebrated 21 years of celebrity photography. Gail and I had a great time mingling with the rich and soon to be famous and the entire event was for a great cause. WENN has set up the ability for fans to purchase high quality photos of celebs and they are donating all of the proceeds to Haiti relief. You can find out how to participate here. The exhibit will run from now until February 28, 2010.
