"Stop & Search" by Banksy
Road trip! New York Banksy fans will want to make their way to the Hamptons to see a very cool exhibit of Banksy’s “Street Works” at the Keszler Gallery in Southampton. The gallery has acquired a number of Banksy’s original street works – some weighing several tons (such as “Stop & Search” which you can see above) and in addition many vintage Banksy prints are on display.

The exhibit is housed in the Southampton town powerplant (located at 200 North Sea Road) due to the size and weight of many of the pieces. It’s a very rare opportunity to see these works in person so this exhibit should not be missed under any circumstance! I know what you are thinking – the Hamptons is a vile place. Even though it’s pretty, it’s filled with rich people who think that tying a sweater around their neck and dressing in the most unoriginal preppy clothing looks good. You are thinking – the Hamptons is contrary to everything that Banksy stands for and if Banksy’s identity were known – his collective would not be caught dead at the opening mixing with these kinds of people. Yes, you are correct on both counts, but let’s get back to the matter at hand – where else are you going to see a piece of the wall from Banksy’s mural in Bethlehem that weighs close to a ton in person?
