Luke Jenner of The Rapture and G

On June 26, 2010 at the loading dock of Milk Studios in New York, the Rapture played a 40 minute set for the launch party for The Creators Project. It was my first exposure to their music and I loved what they heard.  The dance/punk band played “House of Jealous Lovers” and “Get Yourself Into It,” but did not play any tracks from their rumored 2010 summer release.  After they finished their awesome set, I met lead singer Luke Jenner of The Rapture and he was totally cool.  Thanks Luke.  You’ve turned me into a fan and I am looking forward to your next release.

See two more pictures of The Rapture live after the jump.

An Encounter with MNDR

MNDR and G

Earlier this year I saw the wonderful and fabulous singer MNDR on two occasions (once opening for Erykah Badu and once opening for VV Brown).  I predicted that we’d be hearing a lot more about her and I was correct!  Superstar producer Mark Ronson has recruited MNDR for his latest single “Bang Bang Bang,” (which also features Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip) and on June 26, 2010 at the launch party for the Creators Project at Milk Studios in New York, MNDR was on hand to perform the song with Mark Ronson.  Prior to hitting the stage, I met Amanda Warner aka MNDR and she was extremely cool.  And don’t you just love her shirt?!  Amazing!  I think this single will be the much deserved big break for MNDR and I am looking forward to seeing her name at the top of the music charts.  Thanks again MNDR and looking forward to hearing more great songs to come!

Mark Ronson and G

On June 26, 2010 at the launch party for The Creators Project at Milk Studios in New York, I had not one, but two encounters with the hottest DJ / producer in the world (and I mean that in more than one way), Mark Ronson!  Mark Ronson has been involved with so much music that has rocked my world in a great way, including Amy Winehouse’s “Back To Black” album as well as Nikka Costa’s “Everybody Got Their Something.”  His two solo albums, “Version” and “Here Comes the Fuzz,” are also great and feature amazing songs by both Nikka and Amy Winehouse.  When I arrived at Milk Studios for this once in a lifetime event, I saw Mark Ronson rehearsing for his late night DJ set and when he was finished, I asked for a photo.  He was super nice!  He also autographed his two solo albums for me and he was very impressed that I had “Here Comes The Fuzz,” as it was not well received on the charts.
