Welcome back Lily Allen! The British pop singer has made a return to the music scene with her 3rd album “Sheezus.” I love Lily for her cutting lyrics and I can relate to the fact that she does not mince words! Last week, when talking to members of her publicity team, they told me that it would be IMPOSSIBLE for me to arrange a meet and greet with her. Once again, going through the proper channels vs. going commando has failed me again, so I am glad I took matters into my own hands. And for her publicity team, to quote the lyrics of one of Lily’s greatest songs – “Fuck you! Fuck you very very much!”
And thanks for being so cool Lily! I’m giving you the crown, Sheezus! xx
Happy birthday to singer Lily Allen! I really love both of her albums and I am hoping she comes out of musical hiatus and makes another album. I saw her live a few years ago, and despite what I’d read on the net, she was really good live. She smoked and drank throughout the entire performance but was on her game for the whole show. My favorite part was a crowd sing a long of her song “Fuck You.” Though the song has a controversial title, it’s a message to the haters. Well said Lily, and happy birthday!
Also born today, David Beckham, one of the most beautiful men to have ever walked the planet. Maybe today we’ll get to see him in his birthday suit.
I cannot believe it was one year ago today that I saw Lily Allen perform at the Roseland Ballroom in New York. I had both of her records and liked them very much, but I had been apprehensive about seeing her live because her reputation was that she would go on stage totally shit-faced if she even showed up to the gig at all. In spite of all odds, I went and I had a really great time. The opening act Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head was really great and then Lily rocked also. She definitely smoked and drank on stage, but made it through the show with no problem. In fact, she even hosted a cheesecake eating contest mid-way through the show and finished off the concert with a cover of Britney Spears’ “Womanizer” that brought the house down. I never wrote a review, as that was Pre-According2g, but if there’s enough interest, let me know as I can post pictures I took at the show. I have a bunch.

Lily Allen is taking a break from music for awhile to open a clothing shop in her native England. The Sun is reporting that Lily’s adventures from being a pop goddess to shop owner will be chronicled in a new reality TV show. No other details are available at this time, but if the show is anything like Lily Allen’s performances, this will be highly entertaining.

NME have confirmed that Lily Allen is going to take a 1 to 2 year break from music as soon as she wraps up her current tour. She plans on starting a record label, where she’ll scout and sign new talent and do some other behind the scenes stuff. But as we all know, a lot of musicians make similar promises and get bored quickly, so we hope the same will be true for Lily Allen.
I saw Lily Allen earlier this year and all I kept hearing is that she is a drunken mess on stage. Yes, she was drinking (and smoking) throughout the entire set, but she was very connected with the audience – telling jokes and even holding a cheesecake eating competition. She got through the entire set with no problems and just for kicks, closed the show with an awesome version of Britney Spears’ “Womanizer” that brought the house down. Come back Lily, we miss you already!
