Thom Yorke of Radiohead
Radiohead really knows how to treat their fans right! Earlier this year, they played a one-off benefit gig at the Music Box in Los Angeles on January 24, 2010 to raise money for victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Many fans snuck cameras into the show and recorded it for posterity. The footage has been edited together and once again, the band has provided a crystal clear soundtrack. Though this release is technically free, the band would really prefer that you give a donation, no matter how small to Oxfam. The link to donate is here.
You can download the Radiohead concert at this link. Please don’t forget to donate!
The tracklist is:
Faust Arp / Fake Plastic Trees / Weird Fishes – Apreggi / National Anthem /Nude/ Karma Police / Kid A / Morning Bell / How To Disappear Completely / A Wolf At The Door / The Bends / Reckoner / Lucky / Bodysnatchers / Dollars and Cents / Airbag / Exit Music (For A Film) / Everything in its Right Place / You and Whose Army / Pyramid Song / All I Need / Lotus Flower / Paranoid Android / Street Spirit (Fade Out)

On June 14, 2010, New York’s own Penguin Prison opened for Delphic at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. Knowing that lead singer Chris Glover has cited influences such as Prince, Tribe Called Quest and Nirvana, I already knew I would love their music. From the opening notes of “Golden Train,” I was immediately in love. Chris Glover’s voice reminded me a bit of Justin Timberlake but much funkier and the music of Penguin Prison is delicious pop-electronica that will surely spawn many radio hits! One of my favorite parts of Penguin Prison’s 40 minute set was when Chris Glover placed his guitar over his head and played it backwards a’la Jimi Hendrix! While we await the release of Penguin Prison’s album, they have already been getting a lot of buzz for their remix of Marina and the Diamonds’ I am Not a Robot.” Our friends at RCRD LBL have a slew of free Penguin Prison mp3s (including the aforementioned Marina and the Diamonds remix), so I recommend you check them out! I met lead singer Chris Glover after their triumphant set and he was super nice! A picture of that encounter is coming soon, so stay tuned. For now, enjoy another picture as well as the set list after the jump.

When Brooklyn’s Sensual Harassment hit the stage at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on June 14, 2010, opening for Delphic, I was very excited to finally hear the band that the blog-0-sphere has been buzzing about for months. I met lead singer Todd Thomas right before the show and not only was he gracious enough to take a picture with me (but I blew it and didn’t turn the flash on, so it’s blurry), but he also gave me a free 3-track EP! Thanks on both counts Todd! Obviously having that sort of experience, you think I’d immediately be spoiled, but as you all know, I leave my mind open, empty (ha!) and turned on to as many new experiences possible before I make a judgment. Sensual Harassment was awesome! They took the stage with a thumping dance track that would not be out of place on a Chemical Brothers album and from there it just got better and better. After each song, the Brooklyn-based trio took turns playing different instruments and it was musical heaven watching the drummer play bass and the keyboard player switch to the drums! You can download a few tracks to hear their awesomeness for yourself at Sheena Beaston. Also, if you check out Sensual Harassment’s official site, you can download stems that will enable you to make your own mixes!
Loving the Radiohead Tattoo!
If the above praise for Sensual Harassment doesn’t sway you, look at Todd Thomas’ Radiohead tattoo! It’s obvious that he has great musical taste and I think it translates perfectly into their live shows! I think this is definitely a band to watch (and hear), so expect to hear a lot more about them!

Thanks again Todd for rockin’ and for being so cool!
