Lou Reed by Erik Den Breejen
I love Erik den Breejen’s work. As you are about to see from the photos, his latest exhibit “There’s a Riot Goin’ On” at Freight + Volume in New York pays tribute to many 1970s icons but with den Breejen’s signature twist – text makes up most of the painting.
Let’s take a closer look…
As you can see, lyrics to “Walk on The Wild Side” make up most of the painting! So cool!

What can you say about Liza? The singer/actress has lived a pretty crazy life. Her mother was gay icon Judy Garland and her father was film director Vincente Minnelli. She is one of the few entertainers who have won an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award. Liza also worked with Pet Shop Boys on the album “Results,” which is the first time Liza worked with electronics in lieu of a live band. I’ve met her in various states of intoxication and she has always been friendly in my experience. Happy birthday Liza with a Z from Geoffrey with a G!
