Lots of news this weekend about The Rapture.  May 21, 2011 was the day that religious nut jobs predicted “The Rapture” would come and mark the end of the world.  They single handedly proved that organized religion is complete and utter bullshit in one fell swoop.

In musical news about The Rapture, the New York based group are set to release their first album since 2006 on September 5, 2011.  The tracklist courtesy of NME for “The Grace of Your Love” is:

‘Sail Away’
‘Miss You’
‘Blue Bird’
‘Come Back To Me’
‘In the Grace of Your Love’
‘Never Gonna Die Again’
‘Roller Coaster’
‘Children’
‘Can You Find A Way?’
‘How Deep Is Your Love?’
‘It Takes Time To Be A Man’

The band have described the album as “fucking 100 times better than the Ipad.”  I’d like to add that it’s going to be “fucking 100 times more believable than organized religion, which we all know now is complete bull caca.”

On June 26, 2010 at the loading dock of Milk Studios in New York, the Rapture played a 40 minute set for the launch party for The Creators Project. It was my first exposure to their music and I loved what they heard.  The dance/punk band played “House of Jealous Lovers” and “Get Yourself Into It,” but did not play any tracks from their rumored 2010 summer release.  After they finished their awesome set, I met lead singer Luke Jenner of The Rapture and he was totally cool.  Thanks Luke.  You’ve turned me into a fan and I am looking forward to your next release.

See two more pictures of The Rapture live after the jump.
