Kiss! Lyrics from Prince’s 1986 hit “Kiss,” – “Act your age, not your shoe size,” have been immortalized in street art! In other news from the purple one, his 21 night stand in Los Angeles kicks off tonight at the Forum. Hope all my Prince freax out there have a blast. Apologies in advance that you’ll be forced to endure the purple Yoda sing “open up your bibles and let God guide you to the Purple Rain,” instead of “Morning, noon and night I’ll give you head!” But sometimes, we have to act our age, not our shoe size.

Since we are on the topic of Independence Day and we are all celebrating a lot less freedom than we had last year, I would like to nominate “Uprising” by Muse as the new global national anthem. Sing these lyrics over and over and over until the words sink in and maybe then, people globally will finally get off their asses, throw their I-phones in the gutter, unplug from all these distractions that are made to keep us numb and wake up! This world has enough abundance for everyone. Not just the 1% of the population that are currently controlling it. If you are a teacher, please teach these words to your kids! That bullshit about dawn’s early light and pledging allegiance is archaic. It’s 2010. Come to the light! Rise up!!!!

Lyrics by Matthew Bellamy.
Paranoia is in bloom,
The PR transmissions will resume
They’ll try to push drugs that keep us all dumbed down
And hope that we will never see the truth around
(So come on)
Another promise, another seed
Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed
And all the green belts wrapped around our minds
And endless red tape to keep the truth confined
(So come on)
They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious
So come on
Interchanging mind control
Come let the revolution takes its toll
If you could flick the switch and open your third eye
You’d see that we should never be afraid to die
(So come on)
Rise up and take the power back
It’s time the fat cats had a heart attack
They know that their time’s coming to an end
We have to unify and watch our flag ascend
(So come on)
They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious
So come on
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious
So come on

Come Along With Me
Verse 1:
There’s nothing I can do to turn daggers into smiles
I’ll be damned if you are going to make me walk 1000 miles
I’m about to give up on the game
Disguised as your friend, but it’s all just the same
Chorus:
Come along with me and let’s destroy our demons
They are there with black swans and hallucinations
Upside down the world has flipped
Come along with me, it’s all part of the trip
Verse 2:
It’s up to you to kill or be killed
I didn’t create these rules and I’m not saying you did
In time you’ll learn it’s us against them
Then you’ll see I was your only friend
Chorus repeats…
Bridge:
Death and fire
Let’s get higher
Death and fire
Let’s get higher
Verse 3:
You don’t have to be the best
You just have to be better than the rest
Take action or you might as well die
Block out the critics, it’s just you and I
Chorus repeats…

In time, the sea will crash into you and me
In time, everyone repressed will be free
In time, even the blind will learn how to see
In time
In time, you will find your place in this world
In time, you will learn to love all boys and girls
In time, your squiggles will become swirls
In time
In time, you will learn to spread your wings
In time, you will open your heart and sing
In time, you will realize none of this means a thing
In time
(chorus)
Time is like age, it’s just a number
It doesn’t make you a sage
Only you will awaken from your slumber
In time, we’ll be friends
In time, we can separate the beginning from the end
In time, we’ll learn real versus pretend
In time
In time, you’ll see that life is sometimes more
In time, you’ll know to stay inside or get out and explore
In time, you’ll see it’s you that I adore
In time
(chorus)
In time, you’ll regret the promises you break
In time, you’ll appreciate the choices you make
In time, you’ll learn to give more than you take
In time
In time, you’ll be able to start life new
In time, you’ll figure out what you need to do
In time, you’ll see that change begins with you
In time
(guitar solo)
