If you want to see a really cool exhibit, head over to Luhring Augustine in New York for Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist’s latest exhibit “Heroes of Birth.” There are several video installations inside the gallery and they are sure to take your brain on a journey. The main space of the gallery has an installation called “Layers Mama Layers” and it consists of a maze of translucent screens that hang from ceiling to floor with videos projected onto them. It was awesome beyond words and these pictures can’t even come close to capturing how cool this exhibit is.
The room in the rear of the gallery (pun intended) has an installation called “Massachusetts Chandelier” and it is a chandelier made out of underpants with videos being projected onto it. Again, it’s really awesome!
Luhring Augustine is located at 531 West 24th Street and “Heroes of Birth” by Pipilotti Rist runs until October 16, 2010.
