The British alternative dance band Delphic played a sold out show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York on June 14, 2010, their first show in America!!! Delphic took the stage at 11:30 pm after 2 great bands (Sensual Harassment and Penguin Prison) and one horrible band (Das Racists), more on each band coming soon.  Drawing from influences such as New Order and The Smiths, they have the sound of a electronic band with a nice hard edge.  The atmosphere was perfect for the music as strobe lights flashed as the band performed almost entirely in the dark.  It is a bit unfortunate because lead singer James Cook is a total babe and it was hard to see him even though I was in the front row center.  The band is getting lots of buzz in their native UK and after taking New York by storm tonight, I think they have a bright future.  They performed songs from their debut album “Acolyte” which will be released in the USA on June 29, 2010.  They played songs such as “Red Lights,” which I think has huge potential as a hit in the US, as well as “This Momentary” and “Halcyon.”  I met the band (except the drummer) prior to the show and they were all very nice.  More to come, so stay tuned.  For now, enjoy some more photos of Delphic and see the set list after the jump.
