On March 9, 2011, Brooklyn based band and art performance collective MEN played a sold out show at Manhattan’s Bowery Ballroom. Mr. Showbiz, Murray Hill took the stage at 11 pm and introduced MEN after sets from New Villager and IUD. The second JD Samson, lead singer of MEN hit the stage, Bowery Ballroom was a non-stop dance party. For the first song, MEN wore a pink triangle hat that extended across the stage (as you can see above). From there, it was outfit changes, funky grooves and a very happy and dancing crowd.

One of the highlights for me was the song “Who Am I To Feel So Free” which was both a club banger and a fun sing-a-long. After JD sang the title of the song, the audience replied with “Who am I?” which really sounded good as every single person in the 500 person venue participated. MEN played most of the songs off their album “Talk About Body” during their hour and a half set.
Before the show, I got the chance to talk to Mr. Showbiz himself, Murray Hill as well as JD Samson! I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to get a photo of the two superstars. Murray was also kind enough to take a photo with me and MEN’s JD Samson! Thanks Murray, and thanks JD! See that photo after the jump and go see MEN when they come to your town. You’ll have a blast!

Mr. Showbiz, Murray Hill
We at according2g would like to wish Mr. Showbiz, Murray Hill, a very happy birthday. I’ve seen Murray perform throughout New York City so many times as part of an ensemble or when he does solo stand up and I have to say, I always leave his shows with a pain in my side from laughing so hard. Murray’s annual “It’s a Murray Little Christmas” is going to be on December 18, 2010 at Le Poisson Rouge, so you won’t wanna miss that. You can get tickets here. Have a wonderful birthday Murray! See you soon!

Murray Hill and G (wearing a Murray Hill T-Shirt)
As long-time readers of this blog are well aware, I love Murray Hill! Murray Hill is not just an entertainer, Murray Hill is Mister Showbiz! Whether you see Murray hosting Bingo, doing stand-up, introducing The Gossip, or performing as part of an ensemble cast at Joe’s Pub, you will always leave with a smile on your face after seeing Murray on stage. I’ve met Mister Showbiz on many previous occasions and he is always nice, but at the New York premiere for “Dirty Martini and the New Burlesque” (of which Murray is interviewed in the fantastic film), I couldn’t resist having a photo op with me in my Murray Hill T-shirt. Thanks again to Murray for the laughs and for being cool as always and thanks to the WorldofRandsom for the groovy T-shirt.
