Mono

On May 30, 2010, the Japanese rock instrumental band Mono played the Bowery Ballroom in New York.  Their music is moody, atmospheric and rockin’ and I had a great time as their music took the crowd on a aural journey of vast soundscapes. Mono’s style  is both experimental and shoe-gazing, a genre perfected by Asobi Seksu.  Throughout the hour long set, the mood turned from joy to sorrow and from screeching guitar noise and back to being very minimal.  If you like any of those descriptions, you should check out their music.  Plus, one of the band members is named Yoda.  Cool stuff, according2g.
