Mystery Jets

The Mystery Jets show at Mercury Lounge in New York on September 15, 2010 was a bit of a SNAFU for me.  They were initially performing 2 shows (on the 14th and 15th).  Due to some sort of customs problem, the band was denied entry into the United States so the show on the 14th was canceled.  Tickets were honored for the 15th.  After watching an amazing set by The Rassle, my gut told me to leave because the night would not get any better.  I decided to stick around.  The band’s customs problem from the day before had persisted and the band didn’t even get to load their gear into the venue until just before their scheduled set time of 10:30 pm.  Needless to say, the band went on closer to midnight and as I was in the front row, the crew was loading in the equipment while extremely bright white lights shined right in my face so they could set everything up.  By the time the show began, I had a headache and I wasn’t up for sticking out the entire show.  What I heard I liked, but I didn’t get to hear much.  If you went, tell us what was missed!
