Good news for Petheads everywhere! On December 14, 2009, the boys will release a new Christmas EP entitled, “Christmas.”

I hope you celebrated National Pet Shop Boys day! I did by seeing them live for their second of 2 nights at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom and it was every bit as amazing as the first time.

As readers of this blog know, I love the Pet Shop Boys more than life itself! They are extremely nice to their fans, they put out amazing music, with great packaging, and their lyrics and music are nothing short of genius.
I was fortunate enough to have backstage passes for their first of 2 New York City shows and the boys, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe were extremely nice. They signed 12 cd covers for me and an original photo that I took when I saw them earlier this year in London (and they both commented on what a cool photo it was). Thanks guys! I heard they are going to be releasing another collection of non-album tracks and I suggested the album be called “Besides,” but sadly, they’ve already been toying with that idea. I also spoke to Neil Tennant about the song “Legacy,” as it’s one of my favorite tracks and he said that it’s his favorite track off the new record.
They hit the stage around 8:30, with no opening act, and played great song after great song for 2 hours. The setlist was very similar to when I saw them in London, but they took out Love Comes Quickly and played New York City Boy, for all of us NYC boyz. I heart them.
