Nobless Oblige by Scott Campbell at the Oh Wow Gallery in Los Angeles. Now showing through April 22, 2011.

When I first saw the work of Scott Campbell last year in New York, I was blown away.  I’d never seen anything like it before.  It was my good timing that I happened to be in Los Angeles to see the inagural event at the Ohwow Gallery which is “Noblesse Oblige” by Scott Campbell.  As you can see above, Scott Campbell, a world renouned tattoo artist, carves intriciate designs into stacks of dollar bills (in a portion of the exhibit) and at the very least, the works will leave you saying “Oh Wow!” repeatedly as you walk through the gallery.

Sorry About That!

Like I’ve said before, there is no way you can see all the detail in these pictures, so I urge you to stop by the Ohwow Gallery and feast your eyes on these wonderful works of art.

After the jump, see a final photo of one of my favorite works in this exhibit. The Ohwow Gallery is located at 937 North La Cienega in Los Angeles.  “Noblesse Oblige” by Scott Campbell runs until April 22, 2011.

If You Don't Belong, Don't Be Long by Scott Campbell. Now showing at the Ohwow Gallery in NYC!

If you are in the New York area, you’ll want to check out tattoo artist Scott Campbell‘s solo exhibition at the Ohwow Gallery in Soho.  As the name of the gallery suggests, I walked inside and said “Oh Wow!” as I examined the amazing works by Scott Campbell.  In many of the pieces (as you’ll see), he took stacks (and I’d say each stack is approximately $300 – $500) of one dollar bills and carved all kinds of cool stuff in them.  Scott Campbell has already tattooed the rich and famous (Sting, Courtney Michelle, Marc Jacobs and Josh Hartnett) and now he has his first show in New York.  You can read an article about the artist and the exhibition here.  The exhibit runs through May 30, 2010, so don’t miss out!
