This is the first of two installments on my favorite albums of the first decade of the 2000s. These albums are not in any particular order of greatness because I love them all. With the invention of the Ipod, we’ve developed musical ADD. The albums on this post and the next one (check back tomorrow) will make you want to throw your electronic devices in a tub filled with water and listen to albums in their entirety. Check out my list after the jump.
Singer JANELLE MONAE opened for PARAMORE and NO DOUBT tonight in Jones Beach, New York and all I can say is, this is one funky woman! She got her start singing with OUTKAST on the track “Call The Law” from the album “Idlewild,” and now she’s released her solo debut: “Metropolis: The Chase Suite.”
She stood up on a stool and dedicated the song “Smile,” to the late Michael Jackson. The crowd erupted with cheers at the conclusion of this song and Janelle got off her stool and moonwalked in Michael’s honor.
Her album can be purchased below. It’s inexpensive and it’s funky!
