Neil Tennant
Happy birthday to Neil Tennant, lead singer of my beloved Pet Shop Boys. My life is a better place because of the music he’s created. In the Pet Shop Boys’ 25 plus year career, they’ve fused rock, disco and classical music seamlessly. On today’s play list, I’ll listen to “Left To My Own Devices,” “It’s Alright,” “It Must Be Obvious,” and one of my favorite songs of all time “Being Boring.” Happy birthday Neil! Thanks for all the great music, past, present and future!

Signed CDs by Pet Shop Boys and Duran Duran
I’m very happy to report the latest additions to the G Archives are signed CDs by Pet Shop Boys and Duran Duran, two of my favorite bands!
Both Pet Shop Boys and Duran Duran offered signed cds to the first couple hundred fans who purchased their new albums, “The Most Incredible Thing” and “All You Need Is Now” (respectively) through their official sites several weeks ago.
The best part about this is now I have one less thing to try and get signed the next time I meet both bands. I’ll be able to focus on getting rare import singles completed.
Special thanks to BB3 for paying attention and of course thanks to Pet Shop Boys and Duran Duran for knowing how to treat their faithful right!

Pet Shop Boys have accepted the invitation to join Take That on their Progress Live 2011 tour as the opening act. The Boys will be performing a truncated version of their amazing Pandemonium show, featuring set designs by Es Devlin.
Robbie Williams (of Take That) commented: “I’m a huge Pet Shop Boys fan so for me it will be an absolute joy to be able to watch them every night.” Jason Orange added: “I’m flattered and very happy they’ve agreed to do it. They’re so talented; I thought they’d be above it and us.”
“Pet Shop Boys was the first CD I ever bought” said Gary Barlow. “I’ve followed their whole career and always loved their unique approach to records and live performance. That combined with two lovely people means we’re in for a great tour.”
Progress Live 2011 presented by Samsung kicks off at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on May 27th, then heads to The City of Manchester Stadium, Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, Dublin Croke Park, Glasgow Hampden Park, Birmingham Villa Park and finishes in the UK with a record breaking eight shows at London’s Wembley Stadium. Pet Shop Boys will also join Take That for the subsequent European leg of the tour.
This is the first time that Take That have toured together as a five-piece since 1995. The spectacular live shows will celebrate their biggest hits from the last two decades and, will also see Robbie Williams take to the stage to perform songs from his incredible solo career.
Take That’s Progress Live 2011 tour became the biggest tour in UK and Irish history when a record breaking 1.34 million tickets were snapped up in less than 24 hours of going on sale. The band smashed their previous box office record set in 2008 with The Circus Live Tour more than doubling their own record for sales in a single day. 850,000 tickets went on sale at 9am on October 29, 2010 and throughout the day the band added a further 11 dates to the tour to cope with demand.
