Thomas Mars (lead singer of Phoenix) and G
On March 2, 2011, I attended the VIP Press Preview of the Armory Show in New York. There was a lot of great art to be seen at Pier 92 and Pier 94. As I walked the show, I ran into Thomas Mars, the lead singer of the French dance band Phoenix. When I went up and talked to Thomas, he was extremely nice. I asked if I could take a photo and he said the magic words – “of course!” Love that! I’ve seen Phoenix in concert and they are great live. Thanks again Thomas!

Thomas Mars of Phoenix!
French rock band Phoenix played their second of two sold out shows in New York’s Rumsey Playfield in Central Park on September 26, 2009. A little bit of rain did not stop these French rockers from making the audience dance, groove and lose control as they played hit after hit including their new single “Liztomania.” A few fun facts about Phoenix (try saying that 1o times fast!): Phoenix started off as the backing band for the group Air on a remix of “Kelly Watch The Stars.” Some of the members also split off to join the band that would eventually become Daft Punk.
