Happy birthday to American artist John Baldessari. The artist is best known for his work featuring found photography and appropriated images. I’ve seen his exhibit “Pure Beauty” in both Los Angeles and New York and I loved it in both cities. Happy birthday John!

Pure Beauty by John Baldessari at LACMA now showing through September 12, 2010
Los Angelinos – head on over to LACMA to see a wonderful retrospective of American artist John Baldessari’s work. The exhibit entitled “Pure Beauty” showcases over 150 works dating back from 1962 to present day. The mixed media exhibit features photos, paintings, videos and the artist’s books. Photography is not allowed in the exhibit, so you’ll have to be sneaky and wait for the security guards to send text messages as I did if you want some snaps. ”Pure Beauty” runs until September 12, 2010 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
