Alternative Press 25th Anniversary Exhibit at Sloan Fine Art
Photos by G. Artists vary. See pictures for details.
Sloan Fine Art in New York has a not to be missed exhibit celebrating Alternative Press Magazine’s 25th anniversary. The exhibit features rarely seen photos, works of art from rock stars, past AP magazine covers and rock-inspired art. There’s one slight catch: like rock and roll goes, this exhibit is only in town for 3 days – so you have no time to waste!
On display, you’ll see works from: Adam Jones (Tool), Andy The Butcher Mrotek (The Academy Is), Black Francis (Pixies), Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance), Greg Craola Simkins, Jayme Thornton, Joby J. Ford (The Bronx), Jordan Buckley (Every Time I Die), Justine Frischmann (Elastica), Marilyn Manson, Marina Chavez, Marc Porter McKnight (Atreyu), Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio), Morgan Slade (Miss Derringer), Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy), Ralf Strathmann, Roberto Chamorro, Sean Murphy, Shepard Fairey, Shirley Manson (Garbage), Tim Armstrong (Rancid) and Travie McCoy (Gym Class Heroes) among many others.
It’s hard to pick my favorite works because there were so many cool pieces on display, but I liked two works from the Mansons alot. Shirley Manson of the band Garbage as well as Marilyn Manson!
Another one of my favorites was from Tim Armstrong of Rancid (see below).
